Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) is partnering with Southwest Michigan First and a regional partner group* to host the 2024 Southwest Michigan Supplier Readiness event on May 21st from 8:30am-12:00pm at Firekeepers Casino & Hotel in Battle Creek.
This event is designed to support small businesses interested in showcasing their capabilities to local buyers by providing them with a variety of resources that will enable them to put their best foot forward, like:
- Accessing capacity-building resources
- Preparing for procurement opportunities
- Perfecting their pitch
- Growing and maintaining supply chain relationships
The Summit will be open to all suppliers looking for support to become buyer-ready, with a focus on opportunities for local and diverse businesses. The event will include presentations on doing business with SW Michigan organizations, breakout sessions on supplier resources, and buyer-supplier networking.
Confirmed purchasing organizations include Bronson Health, Charles River Laboratories, City of Battle Creek, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Denso, Kalamazoo County, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Kellanova, and Meijer Market Format.

Resource partners from business support organizations will be in attendance to discuss services for attendees. Partners include APEX Accelerator, Automation Alley, IRS Business Resources, Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB), Michigan Works!, Old National Bank, Room 35, and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
There is no cost to attend though registration is required. Registration is open through May 20th HERE.
