OVERVIEW
The Northeast Michigan Food and Beverage Processing Support Pitch Competition, hosted by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, MSU Product Center, Taste the Local Difference, North East Michigan Council of Governments, and Small Business Development Center, are seeking food and beverage businesses looking for support to start or scale operations. If selected to pitch, you will pitch to a panel of judges in-person at AuSable Artisan Village Art Center on May 23!
ELIGIBILITY
The program will be open to small businesses who meet the following criteria:
- Business must be located in Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Otsego, Montmorency, Alpena, Crawford, Oscoda, Alcona, Roscommon, Ogemaw, or Iosco County.
- Businesses must have under $750,000 in annual revenue
- Business must have 10 employees or less
- Businesses must meet applicable industry laws & standards
PITCH COMPETITION
Selected finalists will be invited to an in-person pitch competition on May 23, 2022, with awardees receiving customized support services that may include:
- Strategic business development
- Production and processing space
- Buyer connections
- Brand development, graphic design, and logo creation
- Website and e-commerce development
- Photography and video production
Selected participants may not receive all selected support services. Service packages will be based on the awardee’s unique needs.
