The Michigan outdoor economy employs more than 123,000 people, and contributes $10.1 billion to Michigan’s economy each year. In order to better understand the reality behind those numbers, and see how that information can inform Michigan’s state and local economics, labor data, and development strategies, the Michigan Outdoor Industry Office worked with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Michigan State University Extension, and Outdoor Recreation Roundtable to host an entire webinar focused on the new Bureau of Ecoonomic Analysis (BEA) Outdoor Recreation Satellite Account.
